Information for the 2005-2006 duck hunting season will be available after September.

Ducks and Mergansers - Split Season - 60 days of hunting

Duck daily bag limit—6.
Limit may include no more than four mallards (no more than two of which may be hens), two wood ducks, two redheads, one black duck, three scaup, one pintail (in season), one canvasback (in season) and three mottled ducks. The possession limit is twice the daily bag limit.

Coot daily bag limit - 15. The possession limit is twice the daily bag limit.

Merganser daily bag limit - 5. No more than one may be a hooded merganser. The possession limit is twice the daily bag limit.

 HIP Requirements: Persons hunting migratory game birds must carry proof of Arkansas registration at all times while hunting.

Gun Plug Requirements: Gun Plug Requirements: Shotguns must be incapable of holding more than three shells in the magazine and chamber combined.

To report bird bands, call toll free 1-800-327-BAND (2263). The operator will ask for the band number and how, when and where it was recovered. You will receive a Certificate of Appreciation with information about the bird. The band is yours to keep. You can also report bird bands using the Internet. The web address is http://ww.pwrc.usgs.gov/bbl.

 Shooting Hours are one-half hour before sunrise until sunset (local time), except:

• Early teal season shooting hours are from sunrise until sunset (local time).
• Regular duck season shooting hours statewide are one-half hour before sunrise until sunset (local time).
• Canada goose season shooting hours are one-half hour before sunrise until noon.
